About a year ago, my friend Jon Harmer and I began building Periodical.ink. We both have too much digitalness in our lives, we were tired of looking at our dorkulators while we drank our morning coffee, but we loved so much writing from so many talented writers who published their work in blogs, substacks, etc.
Periodical solves this problem by mailing to you your own bespoke print magazine filled with the work of the writers’ you tell it to add. It also shows you which sources have already been added to other subscribers’ Periodicals, which makes building your source list is pretty easy. Think of it as a printing and binding shop, supported by some technology that enables it to print single edition of a small magazine.
Much like Big Ridge Mountain Club, Periodical is a business we launched because we wanted something for themselves that the market wasn’t offering. If you like manual transmissions, tree swings, grass stains, dogs, and the smell of sawdust, you will probably like Periodical, so please check it out.
If you sign up in May with the code “bigridge”, you’ll get half off the first three months. You’ll also be helping us to test Stripe’s coupon code functionality.
P.S. Jon is my most tenured friend; we’ve known each other since first grade.
