Last summer’s Olympics got me thinking about hosting an archery tournament at Big Ridge. After all, we have an outstanding field for it:
We’ve set the date (August 30th!) and we’ve created a webpage and registration form. Next week, we’ll put up some flyers in a few spots around town. Early this summer, we’ll ratify all the rules and accept registration payments.
The tournament will be open to everyone, spectators can cheer folks on for free, and the event will culminate with a BBQ supper and awards ceremony.
Local bow hunters tell me there will be plenty of interest, so we’ll see. The bow season for deer opens the following weekend, I expect a lot of people will have been practicing.
